hi all,
I was told by immigration officer who is proccesing my application that because i overstayed in canada without valid visa before they can issue visa i have to apply for "minister´s consent to re-enter to canada" and pay $400 fee.I am being sponsored by my wife who is canadian citizen we did oversea aplication for permanent residence. Now i am waiting in country of my birth and my wife is in canada.I have done medical exam and interview and submit all supporting documents. We were told that everything is done i just need to get "minister´s consent" before they can issue visa.Is there anyone who has or had to obtain this "minister´s consent" too.And what are the chances that my request will be refused? Thank you very much for your help

Same here (in reply to: minister's conset to return to canada) We have only been told to give money and wait and see. On top of it, we have a child and they told us they don´t care about that. I think they do actually take money from immigrants and just keep it. I hate my country. No consideration for children and families.

Ombudsman (in reply to: minister's conset to return to canada) Have you noticed there is no ombudsman for immigration??? They can just do whatever they want
