I am applying for Canadian Immigration as a primary applicant along with my wife. My wife has degree Marksheets, but her degree certificate was misplaced during travelling to US and we do not have its copy. Also, it is nearly impossible to get a duplicate certificate quickly.
How much importance does wife´s educational certificates hold when a primary applicant qualify for Canada PR by himself ( > 67 points).
Do canadian authorities accept any other form of document like a signed letter stating that it was misplaced or any other form of document.

For now, you can submit the transcripts for your wife. Add a note that you guys lost it and are in the process of obtaining it.

thanks Samm, but this does not solve my purpose of avoiding any to-fro communication delay on Canada PR.
However, if it does not matter at all as she not being a primary applicant, I need not worry about obtaining a duplicate copy of it as it takes more than a year to get Duplicate certificate in India.

If you claim your wife as having some qualification then onus is onto you to provide proof for the same. However, if you do not claim then you commit misrepresentation.
You can submit transcripts for your wife. Explain your situation to them and hope they do not ask for the degree certificate.
