Hi,
I´m an Canadian citizen working in the US.
My wife is an Indian citizen who is on a temporary visa status in US. My daughter was born here last year and She is an US citizen and a Canadian Citizen(because of my Canadian Citizenship). I´m planning to do Immigration for my wife from US this year. Do I have to include my Kid as accompanying with my wife for immigration? In other words, Do I have to sponsor my daughter too(like paying immigration fees, doing medicals etc..?Please advise.
Thanks in advance!
Shahul.

(in reply to: Do I have to include kid for immigration proces) Hi,
Since your daughter already has Canadian citizenship, I don´t believe that you have to sponsor her for Canadian immigration. She may have to be included somewhere on the application, just so they know that you the two of you have a child together - but she won´t have to undergo a medical exam and you won´t have to pay the immigration fees. Instead you will probably have to apply for a Citizenship Certificate for your daughter.

I´m 99% sure that the information I´m giving is correct, however I may be wrong. My husband and I don´t have any children, so when we applied for my permanent residence (he´s Canadian, I´m American) we didn´t look into what to do if children were involved who are already Canadian citizens. If you have contact with anyone living in Canada, you could probably have them contact the CIC Call Centre (1-888-242-2100) and ask one of the agents about it, just to double check.
