| Subject: Family Class File Transferred to Seattle |

Hi Friends,
The CIC online status shows that my wife??s PR application has been transferred to the Seattle Consulate. Her sponsorship application was approved about a month ago and her file was then immediately transferred to Buffalo from Mississauga. And she??s already received the file number from Buffalo. I am living in Vancouver now and submitted her application from Canada. And she??s living in Seattle. What could the transfer possibly mean? Will an interview be required by Seattle? If so, do I have to go with her? Thanks!

Most files are transferred from the main processing center in Buffalo to a regional consulate in the U.S. This was started a few years ago to ease the application backlog on Buffalo.
Don´t worry. This is normal and a good sign that the application is being processed.
It doesn´t mean that an interview will be required. When you say her sponsorship application was approved, I think you mean the application was accepted. Approval is the last step in the process.
If an interview is required, I think you would have to be present as her sponsor. Others may want to comment on this.

Thanks for your detailed reply! When I said ??Her sponsorship application was approved?? I meant that Mississauga informed me that ??I??ve met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor??. It??s been a while since I applied under skilled worker. I didn??t know transferring files to local offices is now a common practice. That scared me a little. Thanks!

Just want to know the follow up of your case. my got transfer to Seattle just like you.
I am outland application, transferred to Buffalo from Mississauga. now from Buffalo to Seattle.
I am so excited what would happen next~
