Online status accurate?

Subject: Online status accurate?
I was never in the habit of checking online status for my clients because I always allowed CIC to do their work in their own time and wait for their written response.

This morning a client came to me and said he applied to renew his Permanent Resident Card on the 2nd September 2007.
When both of us checked the online status of his application, it raeds as follows:
10th October 2007- begin processing
27th October 2007 - Decision made
and at a later date (can´t remember), say 31st Oct. 2007- Application Completed.

The client has not received his PR card as yet. When we called CIC, they said that NO DECISION has been made and it was a mistake on the website.

Can anyone say if they had similar experiences with the Client e-status enquiries? How can they make such a serious mistake?

I guess the most obvious reason, after all we are all human...few mistakes are unavoidal.

Though any mistake in immigration process may have a vast affect, but sometimes we all may commit mistake.

One of my freind applied for H-1 in Mexico US consulate. They retunred his PP with H-1, BUT wrote his citizenship as Pakistani, actually he wasn´t a Pakistani. They correcetd it the next day, but till now because of that he has to suffer extra scrutunity every where.

BUT DC, in this case, they have dates and stated clearly the status of the application on each of those dates.

May I repeat:

Application Received.
In Process.
Decision made.
Application Completed.

How can they be so careless ?

I have read from another forum a post where a guy said that he called the CIC and asked why his status was not updated in the E-cas as he received his PR and the answer was

"The E-cas status does not reflect the TRUE STATUS of the application"

It seems to me that the people responsible for updating and the people responsible for handling paperwork DO NOT COMMUNICATE ... just a good misynchronization.

I can´t say how. But as you said, it happened and defbitely not intentional. Most likely, they mess us his case with somone else.

That is correct CBV. But how come the people who are updating the website can do so without getting the correct information from the CIC officers.
Are they working on their own? They had to get info from someone in their office to update the website.

We are talking about the Government of Canada and not a roadside store. I heard some people eyes are glued to the E-cas website who have their application in process.
What message are being sent to these people then?

" The E-cas status does not reflect the TRUE STATUS of the application", is this another flaw in the immigration system?

I still remember that after more than one month of my citizenship approval, I used to see "In process":). Thought that they changed, now looks like changed, but in the other direction.

From the beginning I don´t know why people get "hooked" to this E-cas, I had never checked until recently, there is no use, it does not change much.

It is more "fun" to hear from others rather than looking at this E-cas.

I think overall the system is SLOW.

The funny thing is that people seem to have some theory about this E-cas and that makes me laugh. Don´t know if it is true or not. Some say "they update it once a week", others say "it changes when XYZ thing happen" and so on... better not think about it.

is this your clients PR renewal or your own? You are very agitated for someone checking for a client.

E-Case is a joke. Perhaps the application is completed but a decision has yet to be made. Perhaps your client has not fulfilled the residency requirement. Perhaps they just did a bad job of data entry.

I think I have read that ECase is run but a contracted agency. As you have already said, you generally wait for written notification.

Hopefully it arrives before Nov 10.

E-case ia a joke???

How can a responsible Govt. organization run such a joke?

If this is a joke then anyone has full right to be upset. Now a days everything is avaliable online, why not immigration? It can give mental peace to thousands waiting on the queue, though ultimately you only can be 100% sure by written notice.

If they continue, they should run it properly or just shut it down. No joke is expected.

the government (liberals) spent millions to set up a system so people would stop phoning and asking the status of their file.

Now that the money has been spent it is obvious that the system is totally flawed. Replacing it will mean admitting the Canadian government got ripped off and the contractor got paid anyway.

As a taxpayer, I am furious. As a friend of immigration I am sorry that CIC and ecase is making life miserable for people.

either way, it sucks.
