Subject: Sponsoring my wife..
  Hi there,

I have some questions reading some immigration.

I become an landed immigrant this year 2007. I landed in Canada in May and stayed there for 1 week and went back home. I got engaged couple of months after I got my permanent status in Canada.

How can I apply for her now? Can I apply for her while I?m here in Saudi Arabia? Or I have to bring her to Canada as a visitor and then apply for her after she arrives here?
I heard that is possible.. but do I have make her stay there for 7 ? 8 months until she gets her immigration so then she can travel back to Saudi Arabia?

I applied while I was in Canada and then went back to Saudi Arabia and when they accepted my papers I sent my passport to my lawyer and he finished everything for me and sent to back to me and I entered Canada after? can I do the same with her?

What if I don?t wanna move to Canada this year and I need to apply for her now.. whats my options?

Hope you can help me on that.

Regards,

Taleb

NOT REALLY

YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO BE RESIDING IN CANADA TO SPONSOR A SPOUSE BECAUSE YOUR NOT A CITIZEN YET.

If you claim an address in Canada and submit an application while in Saudia Arabia and you get caught both of you could be removed years from now. If you are a PR be a PR.

As an overseas working PR you can´t sponsor your wife as Roy said. You have to physically live in Canada, with no income that is even alright.

The only way is to apply for her whenever you´ll be back in Canada for residency.

You heard it is possible? YES. BUT TOTALLY ILLEGAL.

Some guys working abroad process the application as if they are in Canada, even produce some fake documents.

YES.

Only Quebec needs a min´m income even sponsoring wife.

Others don´t need any income. But, to be able to do so; you need to show regular proof of contacts with your wife from Canada to your home country, like, mail, e-mails, PHONE BILLS, money reciept you send her........

Same old story like other who work in Mid-east and wants to use canadian citizenship for better pay there.
I think government should make new law that after landing PR have to stay and work in canada for 3-4 years continue.
Canada need immigrants who live and work here and help Canadian economy.
by the way Taleb, why do you wants PR for yourself and for your wife, if you have to live, work and support KSA economy??????????

I agree with you Hakim.

with all respect to everyone but these things do effect other people and make us look bad.

I moved to Canada 2 years and I´m here working for the great city of calagry. I recently got married and I´m sponsering my wife and it is taking long time simply because they need to make sure it is not a bogus marriage which I would imagine because I´m middle eastern and her application is being processed in Egypt. I really don´t want to think this way and I hope they don´t do that to me and delay her application. I just can´t wait for her approval to go their and bring here with me.
