Nidhi,

My application reached Buffalo on 8th Nov morning after that no updates. Yes I did submit both IELTS and PCC along with it. But I think its better to submit application with IELTS first and PCC can be submitted later as well. Since PCC is valid for 3 months its better to submit it after getting AOR. Also submitting everything alongwith application requires lot of time in arranging all docs.

don´t forget the submissions to Buffalo are handled differently than all other consulates. Buffalo asks for all supporting documents and a long form application immediately. All other consulates require the short form with no supporting documents until requested.

Submit your application with written proof of language proficiency. You can take IELTS at a later date and forward the results.

For Pccs, try to submit if you have them already, else start the process of collecting them. Submit your application with a note stating that you are in the process of obtaining the Pccs. Pccs are only valid for 3 months, but only a few people are asked for them again during the process.

Nidhi,

Assuming Canada is very important to you and you have very less time in US, then I must say that ,that you must submit it now within this week only. You should be in queue , IELTS and PCC can be handled side by side and can be submitted later after AOR.

Also initially let your husband only apply and you and ur kids can be non accompanying members , this way you will spend only $550 for application fee. So money at risk will be 550 dollars only. Later when ur husband gets the PR then you too can apply as family immigrants from India and I think that process won´t take much time.

Otherwise if you and ur kids want to accompany the principal applicant then you have to pay $550 for you and $150 per kid.

For language proficiency, write a letter detailing your education, training, daily usage of English. Try to submit the following documents in support of your letter:

1. Letters from school/university stating that the medium of instruction and official work language is English
2. School transcripts showing that you studied English language
3. GRE/Toefl scores
4. Letters from your work place i.e., your superiors and colleagues endorsing the your English abilities
5. More, if you think of any

I personally know a few people who had sufficiently high points and were not asked for IELTS. Also, a few people who just submitted the written proof and ignored the IELTS request after checking CAIPS. Sometimes IO will make an entry into your CAIPS about why are you being asked to provide IELTS score and will also note down the score he has awarded you based on written proof.

Nidhi,

If you can arrange all these docs as suggested by Samm then its good, but I think you can still move on with whatever you have, at the most CIC will ask you to take IELTS. I think your first priority should be to stand in the queue IELTS and PCC all are secondary at the moment.

In any case she still needs to submit either written proof or IELTS or her application may be returned.
