Subject: pr card question
Hi, if a person has completed their citizenship days and they send in their citizenship application a few days before their PR Card expires, is it absolutely necessary to renew the PR Card if the person does not intend on leaving Canada until they receive their passport? As far as i know, the PR Card validity has nothing to do with maintaing PR status. I have obviously maintained the requirements within the five year period if i am able to even apply for citizenship. please let me know, i just want to confirm . thanks

Not a problem unless you leave Canada. If your status is valid, then expired PR card doesn´t matter inside Canada. Only needed for entering Canada.
