Subject: passport request, now what?
  hi there,
few weeks ago canadian embassy in buffalo requested mine and my wifes passport with rprf. i guess they have decided to give us the long awaited pr. but i have submitted my passport long ago and it has been almost 3 weeks.
should i consider this as any issue?
is there any chances of rejection or interview?
or is it normal for them to delay until 3 weeks have been completed
what is the approx time for stamping.
reply would be appreciated
kind regards

When they ask for your passport, that means they are now ready to give you your visa, there is no question of rejection. You got it congrats!

According to what I know it may take up to 4 or 5 weeks to get your passport back. The best thing to do is to send them by a trackable service like Fedex so you know they received your package.

And it is good to include a prepaid return envelope so you can get your passport back safely and faster. I guess you did not do that but it is not required.

Somebody on this forum told that they stamp about 200 passport per day so it does take time. I would wait another week and perhaps you may fax your concern.

thank u very much for ur quick reply.
i would not know about the mailing stuff as i mailed it to my lawyer but i am pretty sure she would have done it through fedex.
it was just that the passport request form they sent me said it will be within 3 weeks. that got me concerned!!
but i guess i will have to play the waiting game for a bit more.
thank u very much indeed

the reason i am really worried is because, canadian visa office in england had rejected me twice for visiting visa to visit my wife in canada.
but lawyer confirmed that it has no connection.
moreover i was rejected to uk as well earlier(long time ago)but i currently reside in ireland on a valid student visa.
is there any connection?
thank u people

Passport Request (in reply to: passport request, now what?)

I had applied for immigration 2 years ago, and I did my medical February, 2009.

I have contacted the canadian consulate last week by email and they told me that they sent me the passport request via email in February 5, 2010.
I did not receive any email related to this subject from them and I informed the consulate with that. But there is no response from them.
What should I do now???????

Hi I have been asked to submit my RPRF and Passport to New Delhi, CHC. Do you know how much time does it take to get the passport back. Secondly, do you know if the case is approved or they still have to do processing. E-Case shows still under process.

passport request!!! (in reply to: passport request, now what?)
My wife’s application for permanence residence in Canada was sent on May 12, 2012 and approved by CIC on August 8, 2012. Then the documentation was sent by CIC to Bogota Colombia receiving a letter on January 13, 2013 asking for the landing fee payment which it was already paid in the month of August. After verification of landing fee being paid and received by CIC, we got an e-mail from CIC on March 13, 2013 requesting her passport and giving her 60 days to send it from the day that the e-mail was sent. We sent her passport using DHL services and including a “waybill for returning pay fees” on March 15, 2013; Now(April 5, 2013) waiting to have a answer from CIC or passport back or with the visa stamped on her passport for her to come to Canada and finally join me after all this time of separation. I will be updating this information as soon as we get one……

Hi,
I checked my application status on CIC website today and it says "A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision. However,I did not receive any passport request via email or mail. What does it seem like? Thank you!
