hi.. i´m already aware that to be able to remain as a permanent resident in canada, you have to stay here physically for two years out of five years.. i´m just confused.. should the two years be straight? i mean, should we stay here in Canada and not go out for straight two years? are we only allowed to go out to Canada after that two years is done? i am just confused with that rule whether we are allowed to go out of canada eventhough we have only been here for one year.. hope you can answer my question..

(in reply to: re entry to canada) You can manintain the 2 years mandatory staying by different phases. Doesn´t have to be in one single strech. It can be of infinite combinations. Just have to maintain 2 years out of every 5 years.
BUt for the citizenship it is required to stay 3 years out of the last 4 years.

(in reply to: re entry to canada) Read the act and regulations it states 730 days not two years. 365 days + 365 Days + 730 Days and of course there is normally 365 days in every year and saying two years out of five is quicker but it is a combination of days.
