Subject: Family Immigration.
  Hi,

My daughter is a canadian citizen. She applied for family immigration for myself, wife and two children in April 2006. At that time her income from her business was enouch as requsired by the Authorities. She was paying her income tax too.
Now her business is not giving sufficient income and she suffered losses in a new shop deal and thus she is not paying any income tax.
Somebody told her that to keep the parent´s application in process she has to pay income tax regularly otherwise the process will be stopped. But having not enough income why would she pay income tax.

So kindly let me know what is the current status of our immigration application with the concerned authorities.

Looking forward to receive the expert opinion.

Sorry to hear that.

Somebody was correct. She sponsored you on the basic that she is financially solvent to take care of you in Canada. If she doesn´t have income then how can she be able to do so?

So, sorry to bring the bad news, if this continues for a long (don;t know the excat limit) then your application will be rejected. They regularly asks for financial proof..tax return to make sure the income solvency.

She can have a job if can´t do well in business.

Parent's immigration (in reply to: Family Immigration.)
Dear,
Thanks for your prompt response.
Still I am not clear on tax paying matter. My daughter is still doing some business and paying due tax.
My question is that if someone is doing job or business and paying his normal tax and then he or she want to apply for parent´s immigration does he has to pay some extra income tax other than applicable on his income?
How long that income tax has to be paid?
Thanks n regards

Sponsorship needs your daughter to earn a particular amount for eligibility. That amount varies with no. of persons she is sponsoring. I don´t have the chart in my head right now. But you can check it in the CIC website.

I remember for 2 person in Ontario it was 36,000 $/Year or so.

She has to proof that she is earning that amount. That proof is in the form of Tax paying. If she pays tax less than the 36000 or so then she will lose the sponsorship eligibility.

CIC asks many times (not any pattern) to submit the proof. She has to pay the due required tax every year till you arrive.
