Subject: Police check - US |

Hi all!
I´m preparing to apply to move to Canada to be with my wife and I have nearly all the necessary documents together, but I´m stuck on the police certificates.
How do I get the FBI one? Do I send it to the address on the side of B-2? How do I get a state certificate? Do I go to the state police?
Thanks for any help!

(in reply to: Police check - US) Usually you don´t send the police reports until later in the process, when Immigration asks you for it.
But here´s how to get the FBI certificate:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/united-states.asp
The FBI will then mail you the results, which you then mail to the office processing your application.
State certificates are sent only if they ask you for it. If so, go to the state´s government website and search for police certificate information.

FBI Clearance for US (in reply to: Police check - US) You need an FBI clearance only. I am PR of Canada that came from US. You can go to a private fingerprinting services. You can search online around your area. Usually they are also doing concealed gun lessons, but they can fingerprint you for a cheap price. It has to be two fingerprint cards. After that go the this website http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cjisd/fprequest.htm and follow how to send your fingerprints.
