  Folks,

This forum really helped me a lot in answering my queries and owe a lot to friends out here on the forum helping lot other people.

I have completed my landing on 22nd November, 2007 and very happy to be a PR in Canada.

I infact was worried about other´s experiences of officers asking many questions, funds etc etc. But the officer for me was so cool and just asked me to sign the Confirmation of Permanent Residence. I was not asked any funds etc etc. I was given application forms for OHIP and SIN and was out of immigration in 10 min.

Customs was also 10 min and I already have taken the Good to follow and goods imported listed seperately. They were stamped and asked to keep until the next time collection of goods to follow.

The next day I have applied SIN,OHIP and fortunately was able to get the OHIP also without 3 months waiting time as my previous OHIP on workpermits were still valid. New OHIP has been issued for 7 yrs for me and 5 yrs for wife.

I came back to US on 25th November, 2007 and will be here for a month and moving back to Canada permanently by end of December.

Thanks everyone for all the assistance and wishing all the best for folks waiting out there for their day.

Praveen

My out of book experience tells me that in general the Airport officers are nicer than the land ones; for both US/Canada.

I agree with DC.

Rejections at the Airport for whatever reason like funds etc etc are less compared to the border immigration officers who can send people back by the same car etc in case they dont have proper information.

I94 (in reply to: Folks, This forum really helped me a lot i...)
Hi Praveen,

Congratulations!

Did you surrender your I94 when you travelled from US to Canada? If you did not, then I underestand the officer at the airport does not issue you a new I94 when coming back to USA?

I did not surrender I94 while travelling from USA to Canada as it was valid until end of March, 2008 and have told them that I am travelling back to US in 4 days.

So,it was not removed, they did not issue a new I94 while travelling to US. They saw the old I94 and re-stamped on the passport about entry to US.
