Hi,
effective until February 1, 2005, if you and your wife don´t have any kids, and want to sponsor 2 people (mother and father), your family income should be at least $36247.
So if your wife doesn´t have that much income alone, you can co-sign.

Hi again,
after february 2005 cic supposed to release new income table for sponsoring parents. I am not sure if they already did or not. regarding question about the kids, the necessary income changes with the number of dependants.
So, if you have 1 kid + two of you (you and your wife) + 2 parents you want to sponsor, then family unit will consist of 5 people and means you income should be at least $40518. if it´s 6 people - $44789 and so on.
