Subject: Question for Ron
  Hello Ron
In regards to my last question Option C:

I have been a resident and I have been paying taxes in Germany for years. Why would I file a taxe return for the recent tax year in Canada? Would the equivalent of an Option C in Germany be sufficient?
I read elsewhere that since I?m a resident in another country I don?t have to send an Option C. Instead I have to explain that and they will understand.

Roy was correct.

If you are a citizen/PR of Canada then you have to pay tax Canada every year, even you are paying to other countries.

Though, Canada has tax treaty with some countries under which if you pay tax to those countries then you don´t have to pay tax to Canada. Under that currently I only pay tax to the US. That is called non-resident status. Problems are, you can´t sponsor anybody, can´t keep drivers license...health card..checking account...You may find the list of eligible countries in tax canada´s site.

In general, you have to pay tax Canada the balance amount after you pay the country where you are working currenbtly. If you pay Germany 8000, and your due in Canada is 10,000 then you have to pay 2000 to Canada.
