Do you declare the check amount for a mortgage payoff being sent from the United States to a lender in Canada? If yes, does the payoff get reduced by any fees or taxes that would cause the loan to not be properly paid off?

I got my answer from Fed Ex and the Canadian border patrol. Shame this forum is so very unprofessional. Yes, a Canadian can loan money to an American and obtain a lien on American real property. Yes, the lien can be repaid.
