Dear Raj,
I have a query for you. i heard that one can go to these states as provincial nominees in a short period of time but survival there is very difficult. One has to be very good with french as people speak their native language rather then english. It is difficult to find jobs because of racial discrimination. And it is not easy to move to english speaking states. What you say?

Fellas please add your comments too

Hi Raj,

Which office did you alied at? Paris office soometimes ask and sometimes not. It all depends on how many points you have. If you are very close to the required points, they may interview you and determine your French (even if not very good) is sufficent. If you do not have TEF, they most likely will interview you. If you do have TEF, there is a possibility that they will waive the interview. Having said that Quebec does want a good degree of language (French) proficiency. I was in Montreal earlierthis year and had no problems getting around (in the English part of town), but the French part of the town was slighyly more difficult. However, getting a decent job without French may prove harder.

racism is alive and well in Canada and especially in Quebec (in reply to: canada and Quebec immigration query)
I have lived in canada over 25 years. I lived in Ontario most of the time but now I am in quebec. I´ve been here a year.
I must say over 25years ago small towns in Ontario was bad for visible immigrants. But now it got better. However in Quebec I have never experienced this bad of racism. They treat you like you don´t even exist. I must say almost 99% of city and government employees are white probably French. Some of these people working there are really incompetent. I could go on and on about the nasty stuff that goes on here but I won´t.
Bottom line is if you are a visible minority, do not come here.
Financial gain that you may dream of takes a hard work and sacrifices.
Sometimes its like there is no life here if you are not white.

Think twice before coming here because you may not be welcomed here.

TEFAQ (in reply to: canada and Quebec immigration query)
I have an application to Quebec and took the TEFAQ here in Manila. Problem is that I got a low grade. How would that affect my application and what next step should I do? Is it possible that they will just allow me to migrate there first and improve my french onec I get there? I had lessons in french here and i know the basics but it is difficult if i have no one to practice it with here. The best way is to integrate in a french speaking community. TEFAQ is not that easy.
