Actually i just want 2 know me and wife came 2 canada on a skilled category , on 13/sep/07 in vancouver , and working here from oct/07 , and would like 2 know we have few friends living in states and want 2 visit them , so do u guys think this is right time for apply for d visitor visa , and we already got a appontment date for 1st week of Jan/08 , or we should wait more for apllying for d visa...?

from a Canadian perspective - you should not be concerned. You will need to show the US that you have every intention of returning to Canada.
