| Subject: Passport request |

Hi,
I have received passport request from LA office for visa stamping. The processing time mentioned in letter is 3 weeks. Is it possible that I could go personally and get it stamped on same day?
Also can I request to have visa valid until say May 2008 because it is mentioned in letter that visa validatily had already been establised. I did my medical in July 2007

Check the letter and also the website for in-person stamping (Buffalo allows it). Your visa validity will be one year from the date you completed your medicals.

That´s true. The visa is valid for one year ONLY from the date of your medicals UNLESS your passport expires earlier than your medicals.
Example: Medicals done Jul 07. The visa will be valid until Jul 08. However, if your passport expires earlier, let´s say May 08, the visa expiry date will be May 08.
