Subject: TRV for Brazilian Wife
Good day all. I will try and keep this short. I am a Canadian citizen, met a Brazilian lady two years ago. Tried for a TRV twice and rejected because they felt she wouldn´t return although she would have as she has a 2 year old daughter. We got married last month in Costa Rica and live in our respective countries. I am applying to sponsor her and her daughter but this is painfully slow. The sponsorship application is nearly completed but still needs to be sent away. I am going to Brazil for Christmas but we want her to come and visit for a month or two while we wait for PR status. While there we want to apply for another TRV for her, not the daughter. Any tips to help improve the chances? She will not overstay the TRV because that would jeopardize the PR application and she would have to return to get her. This is our last shot at her coming here before the PR. Surely they won´t refuse a wife wanting to visit her husband, would they? Also anyone have any idea how quick Sao Paulo do family class visas? Thanks so much for any tips and also for this site, I have learned alot here.

Dear Don

Why have you delayed submitting your spousal sponsorship application? Was it too difficult to say the four most scariest words any man must say? "Will You Marry Me"?

You got married last month and could of submitted everything the second you got a marriage certificate. All you would of had to do is include the date of marriage, some additional photos etc..

Not long processing times for Brazil. It is about thirty days to approve you as a sponsor and if you focus on proving the relationship your looking at probably three months if you do a good job of showing a bond between the two of you.

Just maybe CIC views your situation of he only wants to play house, they will split up soon after she arrives and she will stay permanently illegally.

So now are you really married? Why would her child not come up on the visit? That might lead one to believe you want her and not her child. Hey new Dad that paints you in not the best light.

When anyone asesses anything they can interpret your actions in many different ways. You probably are a very nice gentleman but others may view it differently. I strongly suggest you show lots of photos with her child laughing and having fun with her new Dad.

Hi Roy. Thanks for the help. We got married last month in Costa Rica but just got the marriage certificate yesterday due to translations etc. and the application for PR is ready to go. Everything else is done but I was waiting for the marriage certificate. Just want a TRV for her to come and see Canada, meet the rest of my family and friends and basically get ready for her life here. The childs PR is also done and she is coming with her mother then. Won´t it look better if the child remains in Brazil during a temporary visit so she has ties to her home country, thus not being tempted to stay illegally which she won´t do anyways? Again thanks for any help.

Not really.

One would think so but look at it this way.

Your like most other males who are newly wed. You want your privacy. You feel the kid would infringe on that but think again if she is worried about her child that will......

Getting her here for a CVV Canadian Visitor Visa will be real difficult. Prove the marriage so any interview will be waived. Do a good job and live happily ever after.

The Visitor Visa will probably not work.

Thanks Roy for your input. I would like your opinion if I have a presented a good case for the PR status if it is possible for you or anyone else who has experience in this.
Here is what I have gathered. It is getting mailed very soon.
1. Every boarding pass from my vists to see her since we met. About 6 or 7 trips to Brazil.
2. Emails and phone records for the past two years. We talk everyday.
3. Photos with captions from every trip, some with her child, her family and some of my family with her. Many photos taking in front of landmarks and monuments with the location named.
4. Hotel receipts when we stayed in hotels.
5. Receipts for engagement ring and wedding rings plus photos of when we got engaged.
6. Statements of money I transfered to her to help support her in the last two years.
7. Wedding invitations and guest book.
8. Wedding photos including some with family and friends who attended.
9. Wedding receipts for wedding in Costa Rica and honeymoon receipts.
10. Written statements from family and friends on both sides declaring their knowledge of our relationship.
11. Notarized statements from each of us stating our intents to be together forever and become a family.
12. All my financial statements and bank statements.
13. Tax assessments from property owned.
Plus all the required forms, some of hers with official translations.
If there is anything missing I would sure appreciate input. I take it if they waive the interview that is preferred. If they ask for an interview is that something to worry about and how much quicker is it if there is no interview? Thanks a million. I enjoy this site and hope that maybe I can help someone with an answer in the future.

actually when my wfe before we were married wanted to come for a visit they told her itwould be better if she left her boy behind in Brazil with family so they know she would return, that was from Sao Paulo.... and we asked if she would have a better chance at getting the tvv if we were married they said no it was more of a reason for her not to return. They said if she had property or lots of money they may approve
