Did you write "Please send back quickly for Canadian Immigration Purposes"? I wrote that with mine and I got them back in a week and a half. This was back in the beginning of October.

Mine and that of my husband´s took 3 weeks. I sent it on Nov 15th and got it back a couple of days ago. And no, i didn´t write any note to them to send it back quickly, and I even sent it by Canada Post which is usually slow.

Nic: If you didn´t write a note on the package to expedite processing, you might consider sending another set of fingerprints with a note explaining your deadline. They are extremely punctual if you let them know your timeline; otherwise there isn´t any way to know how long it might take. Just a thought, if you are stressing. Good luck.

I wrote my canadian immigration deadline on the package, is this enough or do we need to attach a cover letter?

Thanks for your replys.

I did include a cover letter, since we can´t know what happens to the envelopes in the mail room. Could be that if the mail person notices an envelope marked "expedite", the contents go in a separate pile, but who knows. One hopes that´s the case.

It sounds like people are getting them back pretty fast right now at any rate. Maybe someone here has experience getting in touch with CIC if they don´t get their passport back in time? It seems to me that I´ve read about people doing that successfully.

Nic,
You should be fine as you have included the deadline date. I had not done that and I had submitted the FP late too !!
But CIC is understanding about these issues, so just take it easy.

I requested expeditied service as well, for Canadian immigration purposes and it came in about 2 weeks as well. So I guess it works as long as you told them in advance
