I have applied for SW here in Canada in 2005. By the time I applied, I had two years of Teaching in Mathematics as a work experience ( in Romania) and MSc and here in Canada I finished another MSc and am still on school and have a teaching and research assistant ships since 2005. I was then asked to take IELTS and got 6.0. I haven´t got any response yet.
I am not quite sure how many point I would score: less than 67 or higher . If it is less, I would still happy to take IELTS exam but am not sure whether they ( CIC officers) accept it or not.
Could you please the possibilities of getting the necessarily points ?
I would appreciate for all your helps.
Thanks

(in reply to: Need Advise or Help) For CIC, individual scores are counted not the overall. I do not know your age but am assuming you are in 21-49 bracket.
Your points (guess):
Education: 25 (17 years of full time education and a master´s degree)
Age: 10 (21-49 yrs)
English: No idea
Work Experience: 19 (if your RA/TA was paid)
Adaptability: 5 (2 years of education in Canada)
It seems you need at least 8 points in English language. Also, I hope you have suppled all necessary documents cause points can only be awarded if documentation for them is there.
IELTS Score and points awarded (each band is counted separate):
4 points if your band score is between 7.0 - 9.0
2 points if your band score is between 5.0 - 6.9
1 points if your band score is between 4.0 - 4.9
0 points if your band score is Less than 4.0

Clarification (in reply to: Need Advise or Help) For CIC, ****IELTS*** individual scores are counted not the overall.
You can order CAIPS to see how many points have been awarded , if initial assessment has been done and take from there.

(in reply to: Need Advise or Help) Thanks Samm,
It is really very helpful. I got all 8 in English (6.0-7.0) as you said. I got paid for my TA/RA. I was told from a friend of mine, CIC may not consider Teaching as a work experience. That was my fear. I know I could improve my English result if I got the chance to take it once more. But at that time I was kind of very busy and it had been a very hectic month. I didn´t even prepare. That was really my stupidity way of acting.
I could still order CAIPS to see how I got or anything else is wrong on my application. However, I am scared to bother them as most of the time they said will contact us according to our time line. Is that OK to order or wait a little bit more ?
Thank you once again,

(in reply to: Need Advise or Help) You can order CAIPS anytime you want. For that you need not send anything to buffalo but to Ottawa (if I am not wrong).
You need two forms. Please search cic website to make sure the forms are the correct one.
1. IMM 5563B: Access to information and personal information request.
2. IMM 5475E: Individual consent to disclosure and/or use of personal information. (only if someone else other than you is requesting)
Teaching experience is usually considered.
