clearance (in reply to: Police clerance)
FBI clearance good for six months is all that is needed. If you reside in certain states, CIC may ask for additional fingerprint certifcation.

You would need a PC for each country in whcih you have resided for a period of six months or more since your 18th birthday.

The waiting time for FBI print certificate is about 9-10 weeks. One usually sends the PC in about 7 months after sending in
your CIC application. If one does too early, then you will need to do an additional one.

Oh, make sure when you request PCs that you get a tracking number. That way the FBI can tell you how long they are into finishing your request. They also sometimes lose PCs.

Techinically the application packets say that if you´re from the U.S you need clearances from both the FBI and any states you´ve lived in for more then 6 months since turning 18. I´d recommend getting both just to be on the safe side, better to have them and not need them...then need them and not have them.

And actually ron, it depends on what type of application you´re submitting. With skilled worker/independent permanent residence applications you´re asked to submit police clearances roughly 7 months into the process, but with family class sponsorship applications you actually have to include the police clearances with your application when you send it to CIC.

Tracking number (in reply to: Police clerance)
How do you get a tracking number from the FBI for the finger prints. If you have the contact number please supply it.

tracking number for police clearance (in reply to: Police clerance)
You can get the tracking number at the post office if you are in United States. I sent my FBI fingerprint form for police clearance at post office and that is where you can ask for tracking number on USPS registered mail card and certified mail receipt.
