| Subject: Questions Regarding Permanent Resident Application |

I am preparing to apply for PR through the spousal class. I am a US green card holder and a UK passport holder. I have a few questions:
1. I studied in Canada for two years under a student visa. Do I need to submit a police certificate from RCMP?
2. I got married Nov 23rd in Canada, and have not yet received my official marriage certificate. With current processing times and expedited service, I will receive the marriage certificate around mid-January. Should I wait until I receive the the certificate before I send in my PR application, or can I go ahead with my PR application right now and send in the marriage certificate later?
3. I studied in the UK for 2 years since my 18th birthday, but at no point did I spend more than 5 consecutive months there at a time. Do I need to submit a police certificate from the UK?
4. If all needed documents are not submitted at the time of application, is the application sent back to you (as it says on the CIC website) or does Canada Immigration simply request the needed documents. Does not sending all the documents simultaneously significantly slow down the processing time?

I never stayed for more than 5 consecutive months in the US either after the age of 18, yet I was required to submit a police certificate.
Advice: wait for your marraige certificate, in the meantime try to get your police clearances.
No, not sending all the documents at the same time does not necessarily slow down your application.
