Subject: Ph. D. studies as work experience |
Hi Group,
Does anybody knows whether the research towards the Ph. D. degree (in Life Sciences) may be qualified as a work experience?
Thank you very much.

Work Experience - NO (in reply to: Ph. D. studies as work experience) I don´t think so, because I was in the same situation and that was not approved. Sorry.
However, your PH. D. may be different and therefore might be considered.

(in reply to: Ph. D. studies as work experience) Thank you for the answers.
Since the Ph. D. studies will not meet the requirements for the work experience, I have to present an evidence of another work. In addition to my studies, I have been working in the university for about 4 years (continuously) as a laboratory instructor. It is not calculated according to the working hours and is ~25-30% of the full time job. Will this work experience qualify?

Yes (in reply to: Ph. D. studies as work experience) If you WORKED at the university that may count as work experience.

(in reply to: Ph. D. studies as work experience) Hi Tony.
The magic number here is 37.5
Specifically, to determine the number of full-time weeks your experience equates to, simply divide your total hours worked by 37.5 (CIC defines "full-time" as 37.5 hours per week).
For example if you were paid for 3750 hours, that time would be equated to 100 weeks of full-time experience.
Please consider checking out my web site, as I can offer a lot of proactive assistance to you in this application.
Sincerely,
Dennis Caul

I didn't mention how many hours daily (in reply to: Ph. D. studies as work experience) Dear denis,
In my refrence letter, I didn´t mention how many hours daily I work, all I mentioned is that I work as a network administrator as a full time employee and I mentioned my salary, benfits, job describtion and so on. Is that enough?????
