Hi All,
I submitted my mother?s application for immigration on Humanitarion & Compassionate grounds 2 months ago. My mother is on visit visa and her visa is going to expire in Feburary 08. Should i apply for an extension of visitors visa or wait for a decision on her application for immigration on humanitarion grounds. Please guide!

I would think you need to apply for an extension. the H&C could still take a while.

Thanks Sharon. Decisions on H&C applications are given within 1-2 months (mentioned on CIC) thats why i was confused if i should wait or apply for an extension.

The onus is on the applicant to put forward any H&C factors they feel exist in their case not upon CIC officers to go looking for H&C factors.
It is always easier to show compassion to nice people so attempt to renew her status.
