Subject: 6 yrs old son Canadian; I am not |

Hi, I was hoping someone could give me an advice or point me to the right direction regarding this type of inquiry.
My son is 6 yrs old and laready has a Canadian Passport, certificate etcetera... He was born in Manila, Philippines, His Dad(a Canadian) and I married when we were quite young. We have been separated for almost 4 years now. I have never received any financial support from him.
My question now is, due to a feeling of political unrest, I was hoping I could have my son grow up , study and live in Canada, however, his father does not want anything to do with him.The responsibility is just too great for him to take care of a child.
Is there a way for me to gain temporary or permanent residency in Canada?Without having to be sponsored by my exhusband?
Please advise... any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Permanent residence (in reply to: 6 yrs old son Canadian; I am not) Hi, I have obtained permanent residence for more than a year. I left Canada in July last year and still I am abroad. In order to comply with residency obligations I have to accumulate two years of physical presence in Canada in every five-year period.
Please provide some advise how can I legaly escape from this obligation?
Thanks
