Subject: Can I take medical before I receive instructions
I submitted the application: didn´t get even AOR. Can I do the medical before I get instructions to do so.

I would wait if I were you. Just in case everything goes to pot, you will have saved a few precious bucks. Besides, they will send ya some forms to take to the medicine man.

I think you´re supposed to wait until you get the forms from your visa post. I read in a previous post that the forms have your photograph attached. I´m not sure if that´s true or not..but it is expensive. There are two doctors on their lists in Minnesota. One charges $360 and the other $427. So save your money until they ask otherwise they might expire as medicals are only valid for one year.

Thank you guys. I didn´t know the med test are soooo expensive. Do you know if these tests are covered by insurance (in US)? Any thoughts?

No, generally medical exams for travel or employment purposes are not covered by insurance.
