Subject: visit visa
I have been sponsored by my wife and we have an interview in about 6 months, but she has to go back to canada (we are in lebanon right now). My concern is I want to be with her like any ordinary couple.
I would like to know :
1. If applying for a vistors visa is a good idea & how long they let you stay & the processing times.
2. If I can transfer the sponsorship application from the embassy in Damascus to Edmonton Alberta Canada (if approved for a visit visa).

CIC will ask... if you come to Canada on a visitors visa will you leave if the time is up or if they deny your sponsorship application. the truthful answer would probably be no and therefore the chance of you getting a visitors visa is very small
2 - you cannot transfer your application. Your wife would have submitted her application to Missisauga and once she has been approved, it goes to your country of residence.

there is no way around this process. to change it now would be to start over. I would strongly suggest not to do this. It takes longer than your current method of applying and should there be a problem, there is no option for appeal.

I can understand that you want to be with your wife. True love has a way of helping couples get through tough times like this.
