Subject: PLS help (divorce while papers in progres)
Hi, my name is Peter and I?m 26yrs old
I came to Canada about 6yrs ago as an international student. After 3yrs I got married and I?ve been living with my wife for about 2yrs. I applied for a permanent resident 2-3months after getting married. Recently I received a letter for the immigration that my process is complete (im eligible for permanent resident card) and that they?ll contact me for an interview. The thing is that I?m not longer living with my wife (for about 2moths). She is very irresponsible, immature, since I started working she doesn?t work anymore ? lately she start taking some kind of drugs and she got addicted to it. I can?t live with her And I want a divorce. Therefore I need ur guys advice:
While the process of my application is complete what do I have to do to cancel my application ? do I have to call or sent a letter to immigration.
I applied for a work visa about 5moths ago and I got it. When I?ll cancel my application will they terminate my work visa ?

the first question is - did you apply under family class sponsorship or a skilled worker application and at what stage is the application.

Roy may see this another way so hopefully he will jump in.

short of lying, your going to be denied your permanent residency and lying is a really bad idea.

if your work permit is tied to the family class application that will also be revoked. You will be asked to leave the country.

is the work you do something that might warrant a independent work permit? Chances are very good that you will need to start over from outside the country.

sorry.

Sharon-thank u for replay.
There is no reason for me to be lying. The thing is that I?m going to the university of Scotland as a member of EU(Europe Union) where I?ll go in 7moths. I just wanted to know if I?ll be able to stay in Canada till my visa work expires(6more months). If not then I?ll have to make some other plans.
p.s. I went to the immigration lawyer and he told me that since my work visa was a separate application it won?t be terminated. Ehhh? so im not sure who is right. I applied for work visa a year after applied for PR. But It came at the time with the letter stating that my process was complete. (I was waiting for about 6moths for that visa). I think that u r right that my visa is tied to the family class application

Thank u very much for ur help.
