Subject: Do I need to stay in Canada for PR ?
I am planning to go to Canada (from US) in March to get my PR card. I have read somewhere that I will need a permanent address where my PR card will be mailed. I will be providing my relative´s address. Do I have to be physically present in Canada to get the card? Or Can I return to US and get my PR card mailed to me later?

Thanks.

For the 1st time it will be mailed. I don´t believe that you need to be physically present. If it is extension or lost PR card then most liklely have to physically pick up by signing.

I would suggest that you SHOUL stay there until you receive your card and then go back to USA. For instance you get some objection on photographs or something then you wont be able to come back to Canada without a PR card. So it is adivseable to stay and receive the card and then you may go whereever you want to go.....
Thanks
