| Subject: PR in progress, need visitor visa for urgent trip. |

I applied for my PR at Buffalo about 1.5 yrs back, and now I´m almost done (medicals, police clearence completed). Awaiting Passport request (PPR) from Buffalo for last couple of months. Now I need to visit Canada urgently for personal trip for a week. Is it safe to apply for Canadian visitor visa without jeopardising my PR application? Will they grant visitor visa, knowing that my PR is in process? please advise urgently. Thanks.

applying for a TV will in no way mess with your PR application. However, they are going to want to know that you fully intend to return home at the end of your week long visit. If you are weeks away from your PPR they may be silly and say wait but you won´t know that unless you try.
make sure you have lots of proof that you intend to leave the country at the end of your visit.

Any Canadian Visitor Visa (CVV) is based on the reasonS to visit and a reasonS to return.
You appear to have a valid reason because of your language "I NEED TO visit CANADA URGENTLY".
Not all Visa Officers lack common sense just precent your application with lots of supporting documentation.
