Subject: PCC trouble - is there a way out
  Hello,

I recv. my CSQ from Quebec in September 2007 in NY. I worked in India for about a year after graduating from Queen´s. Unfortunately, I was unable to procure a PCC from the concerned authorities at that time. I have just returned to Dubai (my parents are based there) and have managed to obtain a PCC from Dubai fairly quickly.

Am in a bit of a rut to be honest. To obtain a PCC from India is next to impossible unless I physically go down once again and give it a shot. I would hate to lie about my whereabouts while updating IMM 008. I was travelling to Dubai once every quarter while I was in India to establish the same clinic in Dubai. Is there any way around this situation? Can I get away without obtaining a PCC from India?

Also, I´ve noticed an update on IMM 008. They now require NOTARIZED photocopies of all documents! On my form (printed last year), there is no mention of a notary. Is getting everything notarized compulsory?

I would really appreciate your response!

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Kanchan

Contact nearest Indian consulate and they will issue you a police clearance. You do not need to submit notarized copies.

Hey Samm,

I had a huge chat with the Counsul General and it was very disappointing! He pretty much told me that it´s next to impossible as my Indian passport was issued in Ottawa and I need a Canadian clearance!!!! I´m really in a rut! Thanks for replying!

Hi, CIC rules are not equall for all countries. Country like BD, India or Pakistan, CIC want notarized copies. On the other hand, for Finland you don´t need to submit the notarized copy.

Follow the booklet where you submit your original documents, if you did not notarized your other papers than you do not need to do so. However, if you do submit notarized copy that´s great. You can make notary even from Dubai. As far as I know, notary means that the copy is taken from the original>>IT DOES NOT PROVE THAT THE ORIGINAL IS GENUINE.
