Sponsor Questionnaire (IMM 5540)

Subject: Sponsor Questionnaire (IMM 5540)
I am an American being sponsored by a Canadian citizen. Can anyone tell me how detailed we need to be on plans for residency? The government is looking for job offers, contracts, rental agreements, and letters of acceptance to schools, all of which seem nearly impossible to aquire without us already having knowledge of when we would be able to move. It seems like a chicken-or-egg dilemma. Do we need these specifics in order to be accepted?
Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

Searching... (in reply to: Sponsor Questionnaire (IMM 5540))
I used the search function to look up "Sponsor Questionnaire" and "IMM 5540" before I posted this message. I also have searched the general internet using various engines and have not found anything. If anyone knows where I might find an answer to this question, I would really appreciate it.
I´m surprised no one else has had this problem. Perhaps because the sponsor usually is already established in Canada? My sponsor and I live together in California.
Anyway, thanks for any help.

My partner had to complete this questionaire.

We stated that our plans were to co-habitate in a certain city, i.e., Vancouver. The reponse was vague because we have not arrived yet. In cases where the principal applicant resides in Canada, the CIC would be looking for a more specific plan. Whereas we and you both reside in US, I doubt you need specifics. We didn´t and our attorney sent it along as being ok.

Who is the IMM5540 form to be filled out by? (in reply to: Sponsor Questionnaire (IMM 5540))
Hello everybody, I just wanted to know whether the IMM5540 is to be filled out by the sponsor (i.e the person sponsoring their spouse to Canada) or would it be the spouse being sponsored?? I know the question that I asked might seem like a very basic and simple question but here is what makes it very complicated; the IMM5540 was sent to my wife back home in Pakistan instead of being sent to me here in Canada???
