that is why I said BC instead of Vancouver.
we are on our 4th day of sunshine and the crocuses are blooming. :)
I have some reasons for my thinking but I am not sure how to articulate them or defend them without getting myself into huge trouble.

There is also a huge difference between being uncomfortable with something and being racist.

The responses aren´t racial, but rather the question seems to be. People of all races, ethnic groups, and nationalities come from around the world and settle succesfully in all parts of Canada. The need for jobs, adaptablity, etc. applies equally to everyone.
If it´s meant as looking for areas of cultural similiarity to live with people of the same background for easier adaptation, I think that´s something else.

exactly. and which culture do you more easily identify with, your ancestral culture or the culture of the country where you have been raised? It is not always the same thing.
we see that here in BC already within the asian community. They affectionately refer to themselves as bananas. Asian on the outside but very caucasian/western on the inside. So... where do these people feel the most comfortable!
