Hello Sir/Madam,
we are Indian citizen & Canadian PR and expecting baby in 1 month. we want to take our baby to India for visit after he/she is 2 month old.
We will be thankful if you can advice on the following
1. How long will it take for the baby to get Canadian passport ?
2. Do I need Visa for the baby for India? How long will it take?
3. What travel documents will baby need ? we have plans for 6 months for the baby+my wife to stay in India?

Approximately one week.
If your an Indian citizen can they baby be put in your PPT or given an Indian Birth Certificate.
My son went to Europe when he was three months old and you could see my hand holding him up for the picture.
I suggest you contact the Indian Embassy or consulate.

We got the CDN passport for our baby in less than a week. I think 2 day processing is available, if really urgent (of course you pay more).
As for travel to India... best to call the Indian embassy.

Hi, Some guys from India here ( Finland) got " No required visa" seal for their baby and babies are born in Finland. I guess same rule should be all over the world. You just have to provide that you have/had a Indian Passport.
Just wondering when the baby born why did not you inform the Indian Embassy?? Well, any way good luck.

Thank you for your nice suggestions/advices.
When you say 1 week, does that include birth certificate + passport ? we are ready to pay extra money for fast porcessing time.
DO I need to inform Indian ambessay when my baby is born in canada ? I thoguht India does not have dual citizenship, so he /she might not have option to go for indian citizenship, so why do I need to inform indian ambessay ?

1. You can get the passport in 2 days by paying extra and a valid reason for rush.
2. Yes the baby will need visitor VISA and you can have that done one day as well.
3. I think the passport for the baby will only be valid for 6 months or a year. Passport will be avalid travel document for the baby.
