Subject: Does US work permit is sufficient for R-11 rule
  Hi,
I been living in USA ,originally from Pakistan, for the last 13 years and did my high shcool, college and recently finished my MBA from USA. I was also married with USA citizen(Pakistani girl)for the last two years and my application for green card is in pending. However, I believe we are going to have a divorce very soon and we are already seperated(Currently we are legally seperated). The question is that if I apply for Canada PR, do I apply via Buffalo office, and use my work permit (that I recieved on the basis of my pending green card application) to show my legal status, or should I apply from the Islamabad (assuming work permit is no legal status from Candian immigration point of view). I am not sure if I am fulfilling the requirement of legal status of 12 month(R-11) of the country where I am residing. I wonder if my work permit will be sufficient or not. Any comments are welcome. Thanks

You can apply from Buffalo since you have been in the US for more than 1 year.
