Subject: Taxes to pay

I am planning to land in Canada next month, I will come back after landing and will not go back to Canada in year 2008 , will I have to pay taxes for 2008? I am planning to open bank account, nor buy property etc. Is there a Tax liability? I pay US taxes as I work here? Thanks for your information.
