Hello all, i am in my final stage of immigration to canada. I wanted to know if i can buy a new TV, DVD etc and put it in goods to follow. Would i be taxed in canada for bringing in brand new items. I have no intentions of selling these thing in canada. Its for my personal use. I havent received the visa at the moment. Please let me know and thanx a lot in advence for ur help.

As long as you put them in the goods to follow list, you can get them to Canada without paying any customs. If you dont put them in the goods to follow list and later try to get them, you need to pay customs. In the goods to follow list you need to give the serial no./manufacturer etc of electronic items, but date of purchase is not required.
