Subject: (II) To Sharon: Can a visitor buy a property ...

Hi all,

Sharon...

To my previous topic I got positive reply from all except you :)

The issue was can a visitor buy a property in Canada,
I agree with you and I believe that you are right, that a visitor cannot buy a property in Canada

but from others I have heard that if you have for example 300.000$, you can apply as a Bussines Class and you get papers for 5 months, but as far as I know you must have bussines experience not just money in the bank

Is it enough to have only you real money in the bank, and get approval, not borrowing from someone else, its mine...

Do you know which options shall I use if I have 300.000 Canadians in the bank...

Also do you think that with such a proof I can get at least student visas for me and my family (4) I am 31, and take some post secondary studies, and after 2 years I could get more points and apply from within CA
What will you do in my case...

Thanks a lot

the only answer I gave was that buying a piece of property did nothing to assist in you obtaining a PR. it is called foreign investment and half of downtown Vancouver is owned by someone not living here. means nothing.

As for your business investment idea - in my social circles it is affectionately referred to as the spring flip. You can spot the business a mile away... they have no idea what they are doing, rarely open and what seems like ever spring, a whole bunch are sold to some new and unsuspecting potential immigrant thinking they can gain entry into Canada the same way. It is not a simple as it seems and the rules are getting tighter all the time.

here are the rules:

Business experience
You must have managed a qualifying business and have had control of a percentage of equity of the qualifying business for at least two years in the period that begins five years before you submit your application and ends when a decision is made on your application.

Your business must not be operated primarily for the purpose of deriving investment income, such as interest, dividends or capital gains.

You can find a definition of a ?qualifying business? and other terms that apply to the Entrepreneur Program in the Related Links section at the bottom of this page.

Net worth requirements
You must be able to satisfy a visa officer that the fair market value of all your assets and the assets of your spouse or common-law partner were obtained legally. Your assets must exceed the fair market value of all your liabilities and the liabilities of your spouse or common-law partner by at least C$300,000.

You must be able to prove that no portion of your net worth was obtained through criminal activity. You will be asked to explain any discrepancies between your net income over the years and your present net worth. The visa officer who assesses your net worth may ask you for documents to confirm both your income sources and your net worth.

Selection criteria
You will be assessed based on selection criteria that include your experience, education, age, language abilities and adaptability. You can find out more about the selection criteria in the Related Links section at the bottom of this page.

You are asking about a student visa_ I am assuming you don´t have enough points as skilled worker. if you can find a way to show you will go home at the end of your visa - I would go this route. Cheaper than the business class, you can prepare yourself for the Canadian job market at the same time.

Have you looked into the work permit situation. What sort of skills do you have?

Hi Sharon,

First of all I would like to thank you so much for helping me and helping people in this forum...

You are a HERO
THANK YOU

OK, I think I am on 67-68p, I am 31 years old, married, 2 kids, 4+ years of working experience in the BANK, Bachelor Degree, English is fine, but I must have 16 points in english, plus I need some points in French,
My wife has high school Diploma only, 4+ years of working experience, plus no relatives in CA, means Adaptability = 0

So I must do something, enroll at University for Master and learn some french... (here in my country)...

But I see CIC process as a life time opportunity, I dont like to have a doubt, I wanna be 100% sure :) before I apply...

I have some friends in Canada, they say overseas workpermit is almost impossible

ANYWAY THANKS A LOT

invest in an IELTS test and see if you come up with 16 points.

have a look at this too -http://www.ecdev.gov.bc.ca/ProgramsAndServices/PNP/SO/so_skilledworkers.htm
