Subject: PR Visa Received. Land or not land?
  Hi All,

After 2.5 years i finally got my PR visa last month and it will expire in Aug 08.

Question: I plan to goto canada for a 10-day visit in mid-march, must i land by then or i can claim to be a visitor only and land when i´m ready; say july 08, before the expiry date?

Please help.

Thanks,

Martin

It will implicate the situiation to be in visitor visa while you have PR.

you will be expected to land. there is nothing stopping you from leaving again after 10 days.

yes it has nothing wrong. But I´d rather land in july because if that´s the case, i´ll have 4 more spare months.

4 more spare months to do what?

you can leave after landing and go back home to wind things up - people do it all the time.

i see what you mean but i have my reason for that though.

anyway, another question please. say i land and finish my 3 years stay, can i go back to my home country right away and return in couple years later?
