Subject: Border services messed up
So few minutes ago, neighbor most likely, left me a letter from border services agency that i was supposed to show up for a proceeding to determine if i should be allowed to stay or should removal notice be pushed forward this very morning at 8 AM.

When i looked at the document, my address was correct, however envelope had wrong suite number. It says it´s a second notice (i did not receive the first one) and that if i dont show up decision will be made without me.

I am very angry and nervous, when i check my spousal sponsorship application on CIC site it still says "in process". I plan to go to border services agency office tomorrow, can i get into trouble over their mistake?

Why are you so sure it is their mistake?

Slow down and think! You have a client ID# and I´m sure you know your name, date of birth and country of birth so check your address through e-cas on line. SEE WHAT CIC HAS RECORDED. If they made a mistake print that page off and take it with you.

A 1 can be considered a 7, a 6 can be considered a 8 or vice versa, etc. You yourself may have caused the problem.

Now understand if they are calling you for a PRRA Pre Removal Risk Assessment and you submitted your spousal application after the first letter was sent to what you say is the wrong address (sit down for this) it will not matter that your really married.

Your wife will have to withdraw her undertaking/sponsorship, you will have to leave and apply abroad for spousal sponsorship, seek the authorization to return (additional $400.00) then return if granted authorization to return.

See In Land Processing Manual IP8.

DO NOT ARGUE WITH THE CBSA OFFICER.

Do like I suggested print off the web site address.

Mark it is based on the date of the letter not when it was received. Why would CBSA send you a second notice.

If the notice says bring in your Home phone bills you have little to worry about. They will put you on a voice recording to report once a month.

If it does not request a home phone bill and is a PRRA letter they may have issued a warrant for your arrest. Relax be polite.
