Subject: Spousal Sponsorship
  Hello!
I was hoping I could get some advice on the best procedure to take.
I am a Canadian citizen, born in Edmonton Alberta. I have lived in Toronto for the past 7 years. I am currently engaged to a Guyanese citizen, to be married next April. (pending the outcome of this discussion) We are both interested in doing our Masters in September 09 in Alberta. What would be the best way for him to become a permanent residence? Do I sponsor him as a fiance? Do I get married earlier to begin the processing? Do I need to be in Canada while the sponsorship processes? Does he? Would it be better to do the process outside of Canada? (he currently works in St Lucia) How long does this process normally take? What are the requirements.
Thank you so much
Tiana

The procedure is very easy, My Sis is gonna be migrated as a PR this month after she got married to a CAN guy. it took around 7 months. go to www.cic.gc.ca . Go to Sponsor and see Sponsoring spouse. Download bunch of pdf forms and fill them up and send to Immigration Canada. Discuss with anyone who has experience in doing this typa procedure.
