Hello all, i would really appriciate if someone can help me with my query. I have planed to move from dubai to vancouver in a few months. I want to know some facts about goods to follow.
1. Some of my furniture is almost new (1 month), can i bring those things without any duty or tax.
2. Can i bring gold coins without tax.
3. How much detail is required in goods to follow list.
4. Is there a website that describes the whole goods to follow agenda.

pleased to hear you have chosen the best part of Canada as your home (I am a little biased)
1. yes, your belongings come free of duty and tax. noticed not too long ago that someone here had a problem with items that appeared new - customs did not thing they were personal goods and asked for duty on those items... so be careful
2. yes, your assets are your assets upon arrival. be sure they are all documented - they may want to know where they came from or what you intend to do with it
3. I would list things of value in detail. Clothes could be ´personal clothing´. books could be ´book collection´ rather than a detailed list.

read ur answer to the above query. Our family is migrating to canada from dubai. we are going to toronto & are planning to buy new furniture to ship it to canada. would it be a problem
