Subject: Married to a Canadian, pregnant
I worked in Canada on a visa from 1998-2004. I went back to the states and then abroad. I returned to Canada for a visit in 2004 and fell in love. I have been traveling to and from the country since. My partner and I got married in January, I am due to have a baby the end of July. I work for a company that is operated in both the states and Canada, but work for the US side. My husband has just finished an apprenticeship and his only income is a small amount monthly from an inheritance. I have been in the country for the past four months. My questions: Is it too late to get OHIP coverage? If not, should I go through a lawyer or consultant? Can I get reimbursed? Is it faster to try and get status here through my employer or through my husband? Thank you so much. Melissa
