Subject: doc needed for landing (federalskilled worker)
Hi All

Just want to know what documents do I need to show when I land. Do I need to show my account balance?

Thanks

The list of docs you need to present upon arrival are here:
http://cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/arriving.asp

From info gathered from message boards:
Some of those who have already landed said that they brought a bank letter (stating current account balance) and their bank statements (some brought previous 3 months, some brought statements covering a longer period).
Some immigration officers actually ask for and look at these papers, some don´t.

Thanks for your response.
What does it mean by Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR). Is this the letter they send along with the passport request?

Thanks

No your copr is the form that has your photo attached to it. It is a carbonated form in about four parts. You should have that as well as the visa in your passport

I am planing to get my passport and COPR delivered either by courier (more risky) or by other person. Do you think that would be a problem?

When you want to land you need to carry these three items:

1. CPR- confirmation of permanent residence is issued once your pr is approved. It has three copies separated by carbon paper with a photo attached on the top one.
2. Valid passport with the PR visa stamped in it.
3. Proof of funds: this may be in the form of demand draft, traveler cheques, cash, etc. US bank statements are also acceptable as long as funds are readily transferable. Some officers do not bother to ask for proof of funds while others do.

Getting your CPR delivered to you via courier is safe as long as you are using reliable courier service.

You submit your passport for PR visa stamping, the CPR letter is sent along with the passport.

CPR is sent when they return the stamped passport (PR visa).

hi there,
if the aaplicant is already in canada, like me, he just have to go to the border for landing, then, since all the funds are already in canada, will the bank statement be enough for the proof of funds. another thing i heard is if applicant is in canada already as a FSW, he doesnt have to provide the proof of funds ate the landing time. is it true?
