Subject: Sponsoring spouse within Canada
Hi, I would like to receive some information about sponsoring my fiance. I talked to an agent earlier but since we all have individual cases, I´m posting here.

I´m a Canadian citizen (23)and my fiance (29) happens to be an international student currently living in Canada (same city). We are getting married on March 24th and I´m being confused by the all the different information am getting from people.

I´m currently working part time. I was in college full time but had withdrawn but going back again. During the months I´m not in school, I plan to work full time. I would like to sponsor him as soon as we´re married. His visa unfortunately expires on May 20th. Will my current situation cause any problem for us? Is there any way he can stay here with me and not go back during the process?

Income is not an issue be sure to use the correct forms there are two In-Land applications if your planning to go that route.

Thanx for the reply, appreciate it Roy! While I do understand that income is not an issue I still need to know one more thing. What about my current education status? I´m applying right away for full time courses but I´m out of school as of today and I guess I won´t start full time until May. Will that be a problem while sponsoring?

Hi there!

I was sponsored (inland spousal) by my wife here in BC, Canada. From what I remember, it was a simple case of extending my visitor visa, as I had to stay in the country during the process. We didn´t experience any problems with the extensions, where I became a PR within 13 months (start to finish)

Hope this helps?
