Subject: Money to follow after landing
Hello, I plan that after my landing to Canada, I will return back to Finland and sell my house. Do I have to pay taxes when I bring that money to Canada ( by bank transfer / travellers cheque/cash) if I declare the money follow upon landing (even though I would not have accurate estimation). Any suggestion?? Thank you in advance.

Hi Tariq,
Consult some Tax consultant before taking any step. If you are set in Finland think ten time before coming to Canada.

Hi Nomlah, thank you. I don´t know what kind of picture you got about Finland. Yes, Finland has a very strong social services and unemployment benefits ( best in Scandinavia ).However, I am NOT looking for these kinds of help.I like working. I have been in Finland ( 16 years) and it makes me sick how Finns treat foreigners ( I did not have chance to move other country until now). Even if I have job; still it is very hard to get another( inside the same company). When you send your CV here, first they check whether you are a foreigner or not.

The problem is the job area for foreigner is very limited (even with the Finnish degree). On the other hand, Canada is not paradise but still better than Finland. The bottom line is you have to WORK.

If I get a PR; I SHALL move to Canada. I will study more and get a job. If I would spend half of time in Canada what I spent in Finland; I would have been in better position in Canada.
I have aunts( my wife side) who live in Toronto and they got surprised when learned that not all odd jobs is available for foreigners. I don´t wanna raise my child here FOR SURE. I don´t wanna stay in Finland and think in last day of my life WHAT I COULD BECOME IF I WOULD BE IN CANADA? I wanna take a risk. Thank you again Nomlah.

Tariq,

When you immigrate to Canada, you have to get Canadian education or work experience to enter the job market. This is similar to starting almost all over again. That´s why Nomlah said if you are well settled in Finland think ten times before coming to Canada. It seems, you are not or at least not so satisfied with your life in Finland. As you are willing to come to Canada and enroll into some course and go through with the initial struggle, I think you should be fine. All the best!!!

Thank you Samm. I know that I have to establish new ground and I am not expecting bed of roses.Beside that when I am gonna live in Canada that would also make sense to get a degree.

I have BBA from Finland and I want to get Master from Canada. If not at least CGA/CMA. Let see what happened.

Right now am in Canada, and I really like this place
I don`t know if I will succeed here or not, but at least I am in a place not looked to as a foreigner (INVANDRARE)
