Subject: Sponsor a child
I was reading the guide to sponsorship and I found the following statement.
"Children included in the application must meet the definition of ?dependent children? both on the day the Case Processing Centre (CPC) in Mississauga, Ontario, receives a complete application and, without taking into account whether they have attained 22 years of age, on the day a visa is issued to them."
Does this mean that if at the time the application is submitted the child is under 22 and when the visa is issued the child must still be under 22? I find this confusing. Please clarify.
Thank you

A Guide is a Guide and the Law is the IRPA Act and the IRPR (regulations)You need to read definiton of dependent!

Look up lock in date also in the manuals. Go to www.cic.gc.ca and search for manuals and regulations.

All the information is there and after reading same you can fit it into your personal circumstances.
