my name is sharon. some folks on this forum think I am a secret immigration officer (no i am not); some people think I am a power hungry dictator (no) others think I should run for president (not interested);others think I am just like them on this lonely journey called immigration. I am a middle aged female (previously married), professional, Canadian, live on the west coast of Canada and I am waiting for my fiance to arrive as a skilled worker from north africa. I have offered a few comments to postings on this forum. Sometimes my postings make people angry because it is not always what they want to hear. I tend to take the perspective of CIC because they are really the only ones we must convince about our applications. Needless to say I have been know to take some nasty abuse.

recently, I took some time away from the forum for a variety of reasons. I have cautiously returned to see if I can contribute and learn at the same time. we shall see what happens.

now you know.

Introduction (in reply to: Sharon Please interduce your self)
Sharon:

No one thinks any other than what you´d want them to. I have all respect for your contribution. The forum members have gained in terms of facts from your posts; however I´d be devil here and say that 2/3 is all personal stuff no one can handle after a while.

We all welcome "facts"; we are humans and empathize with personal stuff as well. However; we all have a lot going in our lives as well. If all of us were to begin writing about us rather than "what matters" then this is going to be a blog of personal matters and less of immigration matters.

Even if you are a immigration officers; most of us here are genuine, intelligent, skilled and motivated individuals who are only going to contribute and should qualify for immigration easily. We all only come here to see that the process is correct and time-bound.

Well I openly accept that I did voice against your personal agenda and only for reason that it did not benefit the forum and it´s goals. However; I´m also the first to welcome you back. It was getting rather boring...

Apologize for any stuff I may have written and it hurt you; but mind you as any independent democratic system - I´m bound to do it again if I see injustice!!

Take Care and have a happy new year - may you and your fianc?e be together soon.

dear Digshai

Apology accepted. The best of the new year to you as well.

I am still a little confused. To me, the factual stuff is downright boring. 99% of it is either posted right on the CIC website or it does not have a concrete answer - at which point we are simply offering a guess. Who knows if it is right.

In my mind, where it becomes exciting and helpful is when we can cheer each other on a little bit. When people like Ozz get a vistors visa to go see his wife and kids for Christmas we have something to celebrate.(you gave me a real bad time about that one). Sorry, it was a great day for Ozz and a demonstration of a little humanity from CIC that we rarely see.

Obviously, I am a people person. My own immigration story/problems rarely make it into a post. I have been pestered to offer personal facts to substantiate my comments numerous times -so I do. Who wants to read posts about ´how long I have to wait?´ all the time. I have made some friends through this odd little place. It has been enjoyable to share their accomplishments and it has been an honour to encourage them through their disappointments. As a Canadian, I care how Canada is treating people, I care how we are understood, and how we can do a better job. I fully intend to be part of that process as an informed citizen and also as part of a community that has experienced it first hand.

Maybe that is not the point of this forum but that is definitely what keeps me coming back... the people.

happy new year.
